Come and have fun learning the violin in an environment where you'll feel comfortable developing your passion for violin.

 

Learning the violin will drastically improve your understanding of music theory, relative pitch (knowing the relationship between notes and chords), and musicality. 

 

I will help you develop your confidence and skill through posture, intonation, phrasing, ear training, music theory and performance techniques.

 

You'll have the opportunity to explore many styles of music, including, classical, contemporary and improvisation.

Violin lessons – what’s covered?

 

Posture – learn how to posture yourself and hold the violin for best control and comfort so as to not develop future aches or bad habits

 

Understand your instrument - learn about the functions of the violin and bow including how to hold both, where to place the bow, looking after your instrument and much more

 

Intonation/Ear training – learn how to play the right notes with confidence by developing your understanding of relative pitch, and practising scales and by grow your fingers muscle memory

 

Music Theory – learn how to read music whilst playing the violin by understanding the language and performance directives on the page 

 

Performance – learn how to deliver songs with confidence to live audiences

Further development - As you improve, we can look at a plethora of skills and techniques including bowing techniques like staccato, double stopping, tremolo etc., vibrato, harmonics and false harmonics etc. There are so many fun techniques to learn as you continue to improve!

Students will get to perform up to 4 times a year!

Lessons available:

Private 1 on 1 - $55/hour or, $35/half hour

Group 2 or more - $30/hour per student
